Every time I get a text message, it shuts off my data connection

Why the hell does it do this? I have to go back to the comm manager and turn it back on manually. I used to think this was the best phone ever, I'm starting to think otherwise.

That's definitely not normal. I know that sending or receiving a text message drops it to 1x, but it shouldn't completely disable the data connection. Are you on stock ROM? What applications/tweaks have you installed?

Re: Every time I get a text message, it shuts off my data connection

I have same issues with a number of programs needing data access.

When I put the verizon rom back on temporarily, I noticed that verizons rom also has a 2nd connection I think it's for data, but it's not included in any roms.

It goes like this:

Embeded/VZW (connection name)
emgsm.vzw3g.com (connection address)
Password: Can't tell you. it was **** out.

This would fix a whole lot of issues i've been reading about some people including me with data issues. I THINK can't sware to it, but had no issues when it was on.

Thats the data connection thats missing. I have multiple programs that wont run now. No data connection.
