Re: How to get a FREE Navigator for your Touch Pro2.

Give Bing a try, works great on a TP2, plus turn by turn voice!

Google maps, Bing, Waze,...and so on are all free.
A copy of Garmin Mobile XT is around 100 bucks, but its really really good.

Hey when you use the bing navigation, do you know how to make it so it's facing north the whole direction? do you know what I mean? where like the vehicle is always facing up? sometimes I get confused when the map is turning to the right or a different direction? like i have the TP2 for sprint but I do like bing better since it avoids tolls. but the sprint navigation is always pointing north? do you know a fix for that?

Not sure, I left my phone at home this morning, but I'll check later tonight to see if there is a fix.

Re: How to get a FREE Navigator for your Touch Pro2.

I did check out Bing last night and I didn't see any way to rotate the map to reflect driving direction rather than North. Honestly though, with the turn by turn and voice nav I really didn't need to look at the map that often - I did because I like to - but I got plenty of warnings about turns, exits, etc. that the map orientation really wasn't that big a deal - at least for me.

Re: How to get a FREE Navigator for your Touch Pro2.

oh alright, yea that's true... I dont know if you have sprint or not but I hate it, it doesnt give me an option to avoid tolls so it gives me the fastest route that costs me money. I live down in FL so there's tolls all around my area. but thanks for letting me know if you had any knowledge of fixes.

RE: Bing versus Google Maps on voice commands.
I went to show off Bing at Memorial Day to family. Told it "Chipotle". The next 5 minutes were spent with various people trying to get Bing to recognize the name of the popular Mexican Restaurant. Popular attempts on its part included "Triple A" and "Top Pot Leaf".
Google Maps got it on the first try...
