trouble with touch pro2

downloaded a new rom mighty rom. now everytime i try to open messages it switches to a htc checkered screen with notification and contacts as a tab. i could care less i just want to use my phone. i cant even call anyone its just not even showing as it has a sprint connection no bars? anything i can do even a hard reset

Try a hard reset first....that's always the recommended first step after flashing a custom ROM anyway (clear storage). Failing that, redownload the ROM and reflash. And remember to clear storage after flashing it.
