Keep in mind that the site of the server, time of day (amount of data traffic), and YOUR present location can all affect your data speeds.

See, that's what I first thought. But have you tried switching to wifi and accessing dslreports that way?

Because if it was dslreport's servers, whether be by wifi or 3g, you'd still get a hang up/slow down.

But when I switched from 3g to wifi, the speed test flew - about 1600 to 1700 kbps. This makes me concerned that it's really something to do with my 3g radio or signal (but again, i've got full bars/EV at my house).

I have the same device .............I was getting 1.6 MBPS download speed from the stock ROM , the same from the first Mike's ROM and now half of this from the last mikes ROM updated yesterday ?? ? ?
tell me .............is it the ROM ? or the device?

It did not change anything.............
but
I flashed the stock ROM and got HUGE speed improvement ........the front PPC geeks page loaded in less that one second using both IE and opera 9.5 and I gor 1.6 MBPS DL speed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 intersting ha ? , may be our experts Juggalo X or Mighty , SSK or NRG can answer this question ......

Other people say the roms don't affect reception or speed, but after I had to return my first tp2 stuck at 100-150kbps, I don't want to mess with something that ain't broke going 700kbps.

i agree , radio gives you signal quality and strength , roms gives you speed tweaks.

I did mine 696kbs...

on mobilespeedtest.com i wish I could make it more faster..

I used to get more than 1 MBS , now I am getting around 400kbs Only !

you guys should test your speeds while you are tethered to your computer. I wonder how different the results will be.

PLS If you wanna discuss in this thread it is better to mention what speed you are getting; to know if its Sprint or our radios or the devices settings ............make PPC geeks threads more useful please ...
