Bluetooth in ICS

Can someone give me straight up info and answers to why there's nothing concrete regarding using Bluetooth in Internet Connection Sharing on a Verizon Touch Pro2? I've searched all over and while there's similar relating info, nothing directly resolving bringing bluetooth back into ICS.

Re: Bluetooth in ICS

Widcomm stack doesn't support the PAN profile and probably doesn't interface with ICS period.

Re: Bluetooth in ICS

There is a trick I found here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...97#post5010397

However, it's for Sprint's version of the phone so it's not applicable to me. I am DYING to figure out how to tether over Bluetooth with my HTC Touch Pro2 on Verizon. It doesn't even work with PDANet.

My old Blackberry just showed up as a network connection when I paired it and I'd connect like that. Damn do I miss it.

Use the Modem Link application on the stock ROM. You'll have to change your default MIP profile so that the DUN NAI is MDN@vzw3g.com (not mdn@dun.vzw3g.com) after every time you dial *228, but it works. Then pair (BT DUN should already be available) and setup a DUN connection in Windows control panel. #777 is the number to be dialed and the username and password are your MDN and vzw.

Thank you, but I'm at a standstill because BT DUN is not an option anywhere on my phone

Are you running the stock ROM? If so, open the Modem link application and select Bluetooth and select your PC using the "Menu' soft button on the lower right

Re: Bluetooth in ICS

I am not on the stock ROM, I am using MightyROM. Following the link for the Sprint version of the phone got me the closest to having Dial Up Networking showing up in Bluetooth Services but it would only show up for a split second while trying to dial.

Re: Bluetooth in ICS

I've tried Modem Link. It connects alright, but you're brought immediately to a page to subscribe to Verizon's tethering program. I want to SHARE the connection, not DIAL UP to one. This was so simple on my Titan it's not even funny.

So there is no .cab out there that provides a work around on a stock rom to have bluetooth capability in ICS? Well, is there a rom available that provides for bluetooth in ICS?

Re: Bluetooth in ICS

what's up, fellow Baystater... sorry to hear about your dilemma, but that's how VZW rolls... anyways i just got mine working via dialup, but i'm on Sprint... i carefully followed the instructions from here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1356096

or here (same thing):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...97#post5010397

i had to setup a bluetooth serial port on my laptop in order to connect, and i used Google to find "ICS_and_WModem_Fix cab" they mentioned in the beginning of the post

GOOD LUCK if you havent gotten it working already, because Verizon is GARBAGE!
