If you read my post again you will see where I state that I do not tether to my PC. Nor would it be practical because I do not have cell service at home.

I won't know if I limited until I get in a postition to get a good EVDO signal.

i noticed when my phone has a problem with the network it will go into 1x, but then after leaving it alone it will go back into 3G. whatever happened to the OP where he got a new phone and said he would come back with results?

Not sure which OP you're referring too, but I was one of the loudest complainers about this issue. After exchanging the TP2 7 times, I switched to the Droid and haven't had this problem since. I'm glad they finally fixed it though!

I think that I may be having this same issue. If I make a phone call it goes from 3G to 1x. Is this the same issue you folks are having? Also, if I do end up calling and complaining about this, should I flash back to stock and how do I undo the spl unlocker thingy?

OOOPS... I read some other pages and found out that it does drop from 3 to 1 when making a call. My bad. I guess no free phone for me.

I'm sorry to bump this. I've been having this issue for about a week now with it climaxing today where everytime I used data it went into 1x. I did everything to try and bring it back to 3g and nothings worked.

So what did you guys end up doing? Can someone link to the radio update? I'm guessing after updating the radio I'll need to call Verizon (which I had to do when updating the radio on my Titan). Thanks a ton.

did you try *228 to update your prl?

should flash the rom upgrade that verizon put out. here

if you just want the radio, it's in the radio thread sticky here

you wont need to call them or anytyhing like that after updating the radio.

Thank you for the post Razor. I updated the radio. Unfortunately I live on the fringe of 1x and 3G so it'll be awhile before I know for sure whether it solved the issue for me, but judging from the responses to the radio I think I should be ok.
