I'm glad that this problem was resolved for you, but this is not an issue with hybrid PRL's. I do not have such a PRL, nor was I ever an Alltel customer, and this issue only affects the TP2 (not my Droid or Aircard).

Okay, it looks as though this thread has been somewhat highjacked into an Alltell to Verizon switch with a stuck in 1x mode.

Any headway on us Verizon, been Verizon, got it from Verizon folks who are having the stuck in 1x mode???

I sent back the referb that Verizon sent me and elected to keep my own.
I flashed the latest radio (1.88.??) and my phone has been in 3G ever since. I have reset multiple times and it comes back in 3G every time!!!!!!

My recommendation: flash tohe latest radio!

Can you post the link for radios? This problem is killing me. No response from Kevin Drakeford.

Yeah... Kevin seems pretty worthless now. I've called and emailed him over 5 times without ANY response. A quick response of "yes, we know there's a problem and we are working hard to fix it" would be nice.

I'm starting to get convinced that this is an issues isolated to a few areas. I'm a pilot for a living and it seems to only happen where I live, in Atlanta GA. Although it happens all around the greater Atlanta area. When I travel, it seems to never happen. I know it's happened once to me in another location, but I can recall where I was.

Where has this problem happened to you? And where does Verizon consider your home area?

I know one sure-fire way to get customer service anywhere hopping in my experience, and that is to record your calls and let the person you're working with (or another supervisor) know you have proof of what they have promised to do so far. Or if they go AWOL, there's always YouTube.

Just sayin'.

(Recording phone calls without the knowledge of the second party is legal in TX, TN, and elsewhere but do check local laws beforehand, of course.)

I'm a Verizon user without any Alltell links. My phone was having significant 1X issues in Portland, Oregon; San Diego, CA; and Los Angeles, CA. I'll watch for other locations as I travel.

Interestingly, within the last few weeks the problems seem to have lessened to the point I don't notice, or been completely resolved. No new phone or anything--but I've had fewer problems.

Umm i have the latest radio and a good prl for the netwoork i am in. with that being said the VZW rep tried as he might to blow smoke up my bum on what the problem was. He suggested i wasnt in a 3g area when i was parked infornt of the verizon tower... he then suggested that the phone just did that and then he tried to say it was not a good 3g phone for the area. OMG i finally got him to admit he had no clue what so ever about wth he was talking about. i am getting my replacement in a day or two but if its screwy as well i may just switch to the droid. i dont really want to as i luv HTC and the TP2 and custo-ing wimo but for the luv of God as heavy as the phone is i should be able to pick up signal in a led closet.....LMAO....Ha sany one had luck with the replacements...
