Has anybody tried this to get EMS to work...?
If you go to this website:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa919404.aspx and put the registry key into your TP2, can you get EMS messaging to work? I suppose this is for older phones but it's worth a try, right? HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SMS\TextShare d DWORD : EMSHandlerInstalled = 1

Re: Has anybody tried this to get EMS to work...?
Well, I tried using the registry change for EMS messaging and I have no luck. I did some research online and it turns out people have been trying to get this to work for the past few years with no luck. Has anybody else had any luck with this?
Perhaps something has to be installed on the phone for this to enable? Please share your results. |

Wouldn't it also need to be supported by the network you're on? I'm guessing that Sprint/VZW/ATT/T-mo probably don't support the EMS spec. for having longer than 160 character messages, so anything that gets sent out will still be treated as an SMS.

So do you think if we switched to an EMS capable phone, had EMS activated by Verizon or whomever our carrier is, and then switched back, we could get it to work with this registry edit?
