when i get a txt message on my touch pro 2 it wont play the ringer i have set for new txt messages it will just vibrate. why does it do this and does anyone have a fix or solution for this.

Does it play in file explorer?

if so then check to see if it is the same format as the rest of the available text ringers.

What format is it in and have you flashed a custom rom? You probably will think this is a stupid question but do you have the ringer turned up? I've done that

yeah like what the other person said, make sure your phone isn't on silent.
not sure if you've checked already, go to settings>sounds&notifications, make sure "program/notification(alarms, reminders)" is ticked. then go to the notifications tab and find "messaging: new text message" under events. make sure the settings you want are ticked below.

yep it is all up and i believe it is mp3 format.

Are you using a custom ringtone for your notification? try to use one of the default tones, see if that will work...if it does..then your custom ringtone is the problem.

What you might need to do is put the ringtone you are trying to use in:

Windows>Rings.........&
Windows

If you just have them on a memcard or just on the phone it might not work, I'm running the stock rom and when I put them in those folders they work! After putting them in those folders they will show up in the sound settings menu!

I use the "EXCUSE ME BOSS" for my text because its the sweetest one i have heard so far..............along with some music I edited with MP3 Trimmer!

Also make sure they are either in ".mp3" or ".wav" format too! I find ".wav" WAYYY better than ".mp3"
