Sprint TP2 is the fastest stock ROM in sprint WM,people remove it cause its STOCK ROM

The Sprint stock is very stable and pretty fast. But after flashing to Mighty's rom on my Sprint Touch Pro2, I'll never go back to Sprints stock rom. Mightys rom is fast, includes all tweaks, programs, and even wifirouter built in. Plus I get 6.5, but theres no doubt about it. Sprints stock rom is really good, just not as good as Mightys, IMO.

I couldn't agree more. As soon as the unlocker was available, I flashed custom and never looked back. Yes you have to be careful as some ROMS are indeed not too stable or are built to be cutting-edge, but if you stick with MightyROM, it addressed virtually every problem and bug with the stock Sprint ROM and runs MUCH faster. I've tested tons of ROMS and this is my experience. Even unlocked and flashed a coworkers phone this week, and he couldn't be more pleased. YMMV, but I would not run stock again (same with my previous Touch Pro).

I agree. If you read through my previous posts, I definitely backed up the stock rom, but after flashing around some more and using more of MIghty's roms. I take that statement back

While the stock rom is fast, it is not as stable as Mighty's. The stock rom adds crap that not many people use, while Mighty's actually adds apps that are widely used (Google Maps)

And another plus is that it's 6.5, not 6.1. 6.5 roms have come a long way.

I have cooked my own rom from Calkulin's Visual WVGA Kitchen and have tweaked os files to my liking. I am using wmo 6.5 sys 21882 and am using manila sense 2.1. I have zero issues, no bugs, no lockups. Everything works perfect after I worked out all my issues. Now as for 6.1 being quicker, I have no doubt, but I will pass. I rather have the nicer looking ui. If anyone wants a nice cooked stable 6.5 rom, not the beta 6.5.x sys's, I am happy to cook one up for you, from my tweaked Calkulin's kitchen. Just let me know. Finally, my 1000 post. =)

Anyone want to put together some numbers to validate this claim? I also agree that the stock ROM is one of the best ever for a winmo phone, but i'm not sure that its faster than a Custom ROM (i'm Running JD's Rhodazio ROM).

Any benchmarking programs that are reliable for the TP2?

I am sticking with the stock rom for now. It is fast and I have it customized the way I like it. I have themes from here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91156

And GoodThings2Life's tweaks all of which keep me happy till Sprint stock 6.5 rom comes out. Having said that I may decide to flash a new rom when that comes out if its not as stable as the stock 6.1rom is. But I'm happy for now.

The stock Verizon ROM was awesome also (just like the Sprint version)

I still would not return to it after going to a custom ROM however. I love the speed, extra features & bug fixes of the custom ROM's + getting rid of the unnecessary garbage that both carriers install is a plus.
