Re: Storage card disappears when connecting in "Disk Drive Mode" with USB Cable

I am sure about that. When I connected, I am expecting the window shows up as another lettered drive(Previousely it shows as K:\, but it didn't.

To copy 4 GB files through activesync? Killing me...it takes too long...(Yeah, through activesync, I do see the files in the device and in the Storage card.)

Does WMDC work as a Disk Drive when using activesync? My previouse Treo 800w can work with Card Export II, but it won't show me the shortcut and I can't find it in the device through activesync.

Oh, I remember that I cleared some unuse files in the storage card. Did I delete some useful files? Here is the screen shot of my current storage card.

Ok, I'm assuming everyone has rebooted both the pc and ppc without them connected.

the settings in the ppc applet can get 'stuck' so try toggling them. if you have it set to prompt when connected do you ever actually get the prompt?

one of the problems with usb is that the PC stores every device that connects, and sometimes records multiple instances of your phone, thus confusing it. there are several walkthroughs on how to clear your usd device list, but I usually just go to device manager and uninstall all my usb hosts. PnP will re-detect and your usually good to go.

usually this problem is because the device was forcefully dismounted from teh computer in a dirty way. at that point its good to say run checkdisk on it. However, usually taking the microsd card out and in, and worst case rebooting the phone [soft] will usually let it rebuild the fs - filesystem

i didnt see the file on there i wish i could remember what file it was, do you have another mem card if you do put that it in your phone with no files on the card, when you hook it up to your computer it should put 2 files on the card one of the files i had to delete and the computer pick it up then

I just hard reset the TP2 after taking my 8GB MicroSD card out, erased all the data, and when it booted, I went to start\settings\connections, and it shows the same things as I said above....

It was recovered to the orinigal data!!!!

Any idea?

Re: Storage card disappears when connecting in "Disk Drive Mode" with USB Cable

I had this same problem and thought there was something wrong with the disk. I popped it in and out like 50 times and finally realized, I just needed to unplug the damn cable in order to see the storage card. When i called TMobile 2 months ago to find out how to transfer the pics on my card to the computer, she said I had to actually copy them from my device (for me, it's under "my documents > my pictures > 100 Media" file), to the storage card (I put it in "my pictures") and then I could access them. I know, it seems sooo stupid, but that's just the way you have to do it.

FYI I absolutely hate the "double twist" software and refuse to use it at all costs (after it started automatically copying like every photo from my "my pictures" file onto my phone and I couldn't get it to stop). I just read the disk drive through "my computer" and transfer everything that way.
