Charging Port?

I've got a pretty annoying problem...I am obviously trying to unlock my phone and when i plug in my phone, it wakes up and does nothing else. It doesnt charge or connect to WMDC. I dont think there is another way to unlock my phone at this time and im not sure if its my charging port that is bad. I used a regular mini usb cable and my HTC usb cable. I even tried to install activesync on my xp desktop and the same thing happens. can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks in advance.

what about when you plug it in with the wall adapter? does the led light up?

Reboot pc and reboot phone. wait till both are fully started plug phone in....let us know.

no led. i actually had an older charger that i purchased from radioshack that works with my phone so i dont use the original charger. but if i try to use the original charger nothing happens. very annoying lol.

if it doesnt light up id say your charging port is dead

no go on the rebooting. i have even tried to reinstall WMDC and nothing has happened. do you think its my charging port? i have a feeling it is.

ok i don't understand how a radioshack charger works and the htc one doesn't. they are the same, its usb and there's not much that can change (unless you have an apple product where the charging requires a data connection before it charges). so it could only be the wall charger itself...but that should have nothing to do with you pc connectivity problem.

now i know i saw an option where you can pre set it to "disk drive" when connected to a pc, possibly in power settings, don't have my phone with my so can't check. but i noticed when i had mine set to this it would not active sync, not sure about not charge, never checked that. so make sure you don't have that setting applied then you should be able to active snyc. but the fact that a radioshack charger works means your phones port is most likely not the issue

I have the same problem with my TP1. I'm waiting on my TP2 to get here (tomorrow) and I'm hoping it doesn't have the same problem.

I had to relock my Tp1 and it never sync'd up so I had to bust up my old Windows XP for it to connect. I have a feeling it has something to do with stupid Vista.

Got any XP computers? if it doesn't work there, I don't know what to tell you

just got from the sprint store and they just straight up asked me how my phone has been charging because nothing they had would charge it haha. but the radioshack charger will charge it so im not complaining. sprint told me it was my charging port. so just gonna wait for my new phone to get in then im gonna unlock it and then comes the ROMS. thanks a lot guys for all ur input.
