Re: TP2 has weak caller ID software,Any fix for the caller ID issue ?

Although I have a Sprint Diamond I am having the same problem, and when I google this site and others, users comments that it seems to happen to people upgrading ROMs or transitioning to new phones - it doesn't just stop working. It also seems to happen across carriers and across custom/stock ROMs.

I restored Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes via Sprite - everything else I re-installed manually. I'm going to try srwsr's solution to see whether it works and will report back.

SUCCESS thanks to srwsr!!! This was a restore issue, not a ROM issue. I refreshed the Contacts sync between Outlook and my Diamond, and now the Caller ID match with contact works fine. Note that I use Intellisync to customize my sync - I like having more control than you get through Active Sync.

I have not had any caller ID issues and restored my contacts with pim backup from my touch pro 1.

However, people having issues with caller ID go grab the HTC touch pro 2 caller ID hotfix and see if it resolves your problem.

Give me a shout if it fixes you issue.

Cheers,

Mikee

PhotoContacts Pro is great. cost a little but it hasn't let me down yet and adds lots of versatility to the phone.:headbang:

I finally got tired of dealing with this...did a hard reset, restored contacts from Outlook, and it works fine now, so it must have been something I installed or a corrupt file or database somewhere.
