Try using smartlock, see the excellent FAQ by MordyT in the mightyrom thread.
Q: How do I get the phone to auto-lock with the Win 6.5 Lock when I hit power? A: Try this. Note: You must restart your phone before this will work. Also, goto Start>System>SmartLock and check "Suspend Lock" and "WM6.5 Lock"
