i would try it but it says i need internet connection..everyone said it would not be needed but i only use tethering so wouldnt work?

Im assuming wouldnt work..... Unless ya had 2 phones to tether. I tethered my wifes phone to my pc for the connection, then active synced mine to it to flash/unlock, worked like a charm....

You can do this while tethering. Once you lose internet connection you don't need it any more.
