... Can anyone explain in basic english, for a WinMO newbie (moved from BBerry to a VZW TP2 and am loving it) how on 6.1 I can install a cab for 6.5 ... Is it as simple as downloading a 6.5 cab for CDMA/VZW from one of the links/posters below and moving it to the phone and installing it and rebooting? I've tried locating a FAQ here under the TP2 forum page, but must be missing it .. I'm 43 and been doing software/hardware for AIX/NT for years.. so I'm not clueless.. just clueless in WinMO functionality and use

Any advice/tips/links would be appreciated

wrong forum but your asking about flashing? if you want a 6.5 app on 6.1, some wont work. please tell me/us what app or cab your trying to dl?

There's no good way to get 6.5 onto a TP2 yet, until software to unlock the phone has been produced and distributed so that roms can be installed that were not signed by HTC or the carrier.

In a month or two, it will be painfully obvious on this board how to install a 6.5 rom onto your TP2. The process will be similar to the process of the TP1, so if you go by that board you'll see what you have in store.

It will be some time, maybe soon, maybe not, before TP2s can be reflashed with 6.5 roms.

Ah .. no offense taken.. After 3 decades online, I've grown accustomed to the occasional abusive response.

I'll await the unlock announcements and postings.. Thanks for the replies.

just move the cab to ur phone, run with file explorer. install to phone memory.

done.

if is not 6.1 compatible..it will give you error. or after install , test the app and see.
