I will get to playing around with my phone, some day. feel free to add what you want or comment.....this might help some people looking to buy this phone or not....

Like
  • notifications page (shows all at once)
  • facebook sync to contacts
  • keyboard easy to use, nice lighting, good short cuts
  • comparably fast
  • easy to set up and use wifi
  • the symbols page
  • the keyboard has t9 (because I'm a bad speller)
  • speaker phone (auto on turn over)
  • the 2 microphones to block out background noise (though I havn’t tested)
  • lighted keyboard
  • nice graphics (though sometimes slow to focus)
  • auto focus on camra
don’t
  • websites don’t work as expected (everything is still in mobile view)
  • press power button when texting
  • hard to txt and hold phone when charging
  • gps tells u to exit when u hit the exit sign (when its to late)
  • no detailed battery page (% and time left)
  • also getting a lot of crash errors for programs (not phone crashing)
  • some programs require wifi to be off instead of just pausing or switching to that connection
  • when viewing a messaging and press the call button it takes u to the call screen instead of calling that person
  • when typing and pressing space more than once it creates a .
  • no ctrl button for easy coping
  • cannot highlight stuff to copy easy
  • links in sms don’t always allow u to click
  • phone number on the web don’t allow u to call, any 10 digits number should be highlighted and able to be called (was on the vogue/touch)
  • fm isn’t installed on factory settings
  • the different sms screens (I love the look of the gray one, but the plain one works better, since I live on the border of a time zone….the sent is the time of the phone, and the received is the time of the tower, making them out of order, the plain txt shows them as the order they were received)
  • no translator to write free handed
  • when adding a contact entrances such as b-day and anniversary aren’t "none" by default

  • unsure about. the stylist location, and I wish it was magnetic

issues
  • lot of crashing errors
  • cabs I dl don’t work
  • when talking on the phone and the sensor turns on(turning the screen off) it defaults back to the home page ... when backlight turns back on, when I’m still in a call.... (E.g. when calling a 1-800 # and it says press 1, I have to press my talk button because it’s on the home page, then I press keypad, and then one, I have to repeat this process every time I need to enter a number)
  • in notifications, when hitting dismiss all doesn’t always work
The SMS is the worst of the lot. I'm also having big lags on the dialer screen when answering a call. It feels very slow. I've seen the cleanup thread, so I'm going to hard reset and check that out.

This is the first winmo phone, so I'm still learning. That being said, I see an option for freehand writing. Just use the soft keyboard menu -> Other Input Methods -> Trasnsciber

Now I do have a quandry myself. From the photo album, I can't find a way to bluetooth a picture. Anyone have a fix? Or at least know where on the phone those pics are stored?

I also have an *** dial problem. Phone will come alive in my pocket for calls and texts. Any simple ways to lock?

I've actally taken touch flo off. As much as I like the flash I like the speed of the base stuff better. I saw something called spb, looks interesting, might have to try that out.

Re: The htc tp2 likes/dislikes/issues [sprint]

I'd have to say that I love almost everything about the phone with two big exceptions.

-The proximity sensor is all kinds of retarded. I love that it turns off when against my face and back on when I pull it away from my face so I can press buttons, but there is no way to disable it on a per instance basis. It still functions and flips the screen on and off or hangs up on people with BT. Two things would solve this issue, pressing the power button should turn off the screen and disable the proximity sensor for THAT call and it should be disabled when connected via BT.

-The second issue is also a known issue and that's the inability to hangup via BT. It's annoying and there is quite a bit of delay when someone else hangs up before the call finally disconnects.

i too have this problem and its irritating me. but i didnt know it was cuz of the towers and such. i like using the manila sms screen but when i check its not in order, so i'm scrolling up n down just to reread the conversation.

any ideas on how to fix it for us stuck on the line

Quote:
press power button when texting
theres an app 4 dat. its AndyHoartyDPBv1.1 search xda, you'll see it. it also has other button functions (when kb open) as stopping the kb light sensor flicking on/off. check it out.

Quote:
no detailed battery page (% and time left)
i use resco file explorer and (pretty sure) that a system info.lnk is also installed. i'm sure there are others... or install the 1% battery cab + taskbar and have the percentage in the top taskbar

Quote:
also getting a lot of crash errors for programs (not phone crashing)
Quote:
cabs I dl don’t work
make sure you dont have many programs running in the backround. set "x button to close" in settings. i use the cleanRAM1.8 to free up space. and definitly make sure that the apps are made for the phone. ( sorry, just making sure, no offense)

Quote:
when viewing a messaging and press the call button it takes u to the call screen instead of calling that person
in touchflo: in sms tab hit message, take you to conversation screen, then slide to the contact card then hit call. maybe not as easy as hit green button but its finger friendly.

Quote:
no ctrl button for easy coping
search for the rhodium kb controller, and you can map any button to anything you want it to be as in..ctrl

i hope this helps you out a bit w/ sum of your dislikes
