Do you have to uninstall the stock Opera first before installing this? What is the difference between this one and 9.5 for mobile pc? That is what I have on my Sprint TP2.

They are 2 totally seperate browsers and are not related in the least bit. Opera mini is a java app and renders web pages on there servers and then sends to your phone. The result is a much faster experience.

Opera 9.7 which is in beta right now and the upgrade to the regular browser that comes on our phone is suppose to have a turbo mode which will allow pages to be rendered on there servers and is suppose to be much faster. I have not tried it but people have reported it works a lot faster for that browser as well.....
