Re: Force 1x Data?

It is called WMLongLife and was created by none other than Chainfire on XDA-Devlopers. It works really well for me. Keep in mind though that a few people that have used it in the past has been stuck with 1x and couldn't get it back without a hard reset or DMU reset from Verizon.

Re: Force 1x Data?
FYI, using a Sprint TP2 with stock rom, if you do the above edit but choose Automatic instead of CDMA, you can then successfully control the 1x vs EVDO using WMLongLife (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478519). This worked for me, hope it helps someone else! Nice because it doesn't require a reboot b/w changes.
Edit: Ok so the whole setup works well except that for some reason WMLongLife being installed at all seems to kill any data connection, which pretty much defeats the purpose of the whole thing. It switches beautifully b/w modes, even with the automation, but will not establish a data connection successfully. Any other software out there that does what WMLongLife does in some form or another WITHOUT the mortscript stuff, which won't work on the TP2 because the registry edit doesn't work? Edit again: Ok so setting it to Automatic as I did just has it choose CMDA HDR Only again, so I don't really know why WMLongLife worked for me at all. More on this as I figure things out. Please chime in if you have ideas. Last edited by cameld00d; 11-17-2009 at 04:37 PM. |
