I would check out waze (http://www.waze.com/).
It's free, at least for now, and claims to have turn by turn voice. I signed up for it, but have yet to try it, so I can't rant or rave about it.

Install iGo8 and you can use Telenav or Navteq.
In Europe I would pick Telenav. In USA I would pick Navteq.
