[APP Request] Playstation Network App

is there any kind of way someone can come up with a playstation network app that lets u view who's online, check your and send messages, and join text and voice chatrooms and stuff with mics and web cam? is it difficult to develop a app like this?

That would be freaking awesome I am addicted to PS3. Anyway though that sounds rather complicated. Also you gotta remember this is a buisness phone not a play phone so getting an app like that is probably a pipe dream.

Do they have an app like that for the Iphone? Also you can get your friends ICQ's AIM's, Yahoo or other Instant message info and they could contact you like that however it would be a pain in the ***.

It'd be near impossible. I know you can see your friends on Sony's website, but can you check and send messages? I know you certainly can't join text or voice chat rooms, so unless someone figures out what protocols the PS3 uses to do that, it's not going to happen, and if it ever was, Sony would block it the next day

Remember though, there are plenty of other PPC Phones that are not for business though and a program made for those could just as easily work on our TP2s. Keep in mind there is an Xbox Live program very similar already that does work on the TP2.

Could you link this app please? I've searched and can't find anything. Google actually brings up this thread since you are talking about the xbox live app.

I really wish Sony would provide developers some tools for making applications with some basic functionality like this. I would love to be able to access these resources away from my PS3 (it'd be nice if even the PSP had some of this functionality).

Anyway, here's to hoping Sony does something about opening up PSN to outside tools soon.
