Iphone Earphone on Touch Pro 2

I tried to search a little bit, but i can't find the answer for this.

Will Iphone Earpiece work on Touch Pro2? Does the 3.5mm plug in touch pro2 have mic functionality?

Also, I would like to use tp2 as music player, what music app that you guys recommend?

Wouldn't any headphones with 3.5 mm jack work? That's what I thought.

Yep, any 3.5mm headphones will work. If the jack fits, wear 'em.

Not only does it work perfectly, it the callers I've talked to say it sounds great...although I do believe that is practicing interfaith...

Well I have the iPhone headphones + mic combo, and while the headphones work just fine, no one can hear me on the other end via the mic.

I have the Verizon version... so maybe its just sprint that allows the mic to work?

oh well, isn't it great the sprint/htc ship phone without earpiece. So i wanted to buy one of those nice iphone earpiece, but i do not want to be stuck with 100 buks woth of earpiece if that doesn't work.

Two things:

1. Clean your iphone headset plug with an eraser and/or alcohol. I have noticed they easily oxidize, and get lint, etc. stuck to them.

2. Insert and re-insert the headset plug fully a few times. This will usually remove the junk on the headset plug and make sure all contact areas on the plug are fully seating in the jack. You may have to gently rotate the plug while inserted in the jack as well.

That should do it! I have found with 3.5mm mic/plug combos that many times they need to have the headset jack gently "broken in" as they are a bit stiff when new, and don't allow all the plug's conductors to seat properly until several insertions and removals. Every TP2 I have seen so far fits this description.
