Do that many people actually want to pay for a backup SIM carrier? I personally havent had any coverage problems with Sprint or roaming for the past 2.5 years. Or even the previous 7 years with Verizon. I dont travel every day, but have been up and down the east coast, the mid south, and even Alaska. The only time I think I would need a SIM is when I go back to Europe. If there is another benefit please let me know. Other than: Because we can and should have been allowed to begin with.

Thats the only answer you need. Maybe your work gives you a gsm phone.. so all day you run GSM mode for the work phone, shift is over so you kick in your CDMA service. just sayin

or so you can call your other girlfriend and she gets a different number on her caller id...

Release is now shooting for monday per cmonex. Sounds like they are waiting to test out the server first before release.
