TC, I don't think the US ever got the good phones first... lol It's always the GSM networks over seas, and then like months later there *may* be a CDMA version.

Yeah i can't hate on canada. Telus has saved us cdma people many times. if canada was gsm i would hate myself. the fact that they get the cdma phones 1st, helps us out a great deal when we finally get ours.

But they are all crazy... hot but crazy. As for phones (and most electronics) being released first over seas.. .there is a simple reason. There are FAR fewer legal hurdles to get a product in consumer hands and tested than there are in the US. Fewer legal hurdles and much more lax tort laws mean a cheaper roll-out.

Also that the majority of carriers across the pond use GSM so it's cheaper for the manufacturers to make phones for them first.

And Canadian women are no crazier than American woman... :P Canadian women I noticed like to... ummm. *snuggle* more tho.
