auto captialization w/o messing up the sym key?

Hey,

Is there a cab or reg edit for auto captilization after a period and for the letter I as it stands alone yet? There is a cab for the old auto completion floating around but it only works in the sms, not in opera and it apparently broke the "sym" key on my phone making it constantly put in a _ instead of bringing up the symbol menu. I had thought to use the keyboard config tool to make the . key act as both a period and then a shift key press but I can't figure out hwo to do that or if its even possible, also thought to try making the FN + , bring up the symbols page but can't quite figure out how to do that either...any insight?
