HowTo Officaly Unlock VerzionTP2 For Gsm Use (Free)

Ok so I'm not sure if I have a problem but maybe someone can shed light if I do?

I called and told them that I was going out of town saturday so I wanted to SIM unlock my phone. The rep had to talk to my dad since he is the primary line, and after i got back on the phone with her she basically refused to give me the actual Code because my dad decided he didn't want it unlocked until saturday, so i guess somehow she has it setup to unlock 12 midnight friday night/saturday morning. Will I still be able to use any SIM? and will they charge me for the unlock? If not i want to call back and cancel it then maybe try to call again later for someone more compliant with my needs...

you have to type in the code that they give you. then it will be unlocked. it's free

yeah i understand that but she didnt give me a code because apparently my father didnt want it unlocked immediately. basically she set it up to be remotely unlocked on a timer i suppose? Does this sound like i did something different?

When I called she asked for my SIM ID# and said she set it up from there...

Um I don't think Verizon has a remote sim unlock deployed (if its even a such thing)

Verizon has no connection or control over the sim slot u might want to call them back that don't sound right

I have a problem with sending sms. )) Htc Verizon tp2, and using another operator. In CDMA mode, i con not send SMS.I get this message
Error Class Permanent
Cause Code SMS Trm.D
Delivery Failed.
Please help

This has nothing to do with the sim unlock process! U might want to put ur device in gsm mode! most carriers outside the US don't use cdma and the ones that do are on different bands then the US

well, I called verizon, and first rep was quoting pricing for over seas usage. I explained that I need to unlock the sim as I will be using prepaid. They said there was no such thing. I said let me speak to a supervisor, then they were able to immediately give me the code to unlock. Took about 10 minutes total.

Funny thing though, I had upgraded the rom to a mobile sense rom, and didnt have the "security" button under settings, personal... and it already had the ability to select gsm only/ cdma or global.

I have since flashed back to verizons shipped rom and unlocked through security button, but for some reason when I select manual and then try to register on tmobile it says that it cant register, no reason given though. tmobile sim is in the phone and the phone sees att and tmobile. what am i doing wrong? could it be that tmobile is not available where I am right now? I believe signal is pretty poor here.

try switching your phone to gsm mode and set the gsm network selection to manual, then select t-mobile.

yep, thats exactly what I did, the only way tmobile is an option. Im goin to try in a better service area tomorrow i think. think that could be it?
