Re: how to offically unlock verizon tp2 sim for gsm use

Got mine unlocked, but it took 25 minutes. He had to have the code off the SIM card, read a lot of info and email it to me, send some activation info to the phone, and finally give me the unlock code that unlocked the phone.

Thanks!

Thanks. Yeah, I did get them to give me a tp2 for 125, even though it wasn't "the primary line" therefore it wasn't suppose to get the NE2 deal. I technically get it for 24, because I have 20% off through work, but I saw that and thought I would ask. Thanks for the info.

Re: how to offically unlock verizon tp2 sim for gsm use

I was able to get my AT&T sim card to work on my Verizon HTC Toutch Pro 2.
Heres what I did;
I called Verizon and told them I was going to England for a vacation and wanted to use my phone over there. The customer service rep said she needed a number off my sim card and that they had to do something at their end. I told her that I wanted to use pre paid sim cards. She said, "oh, you just need and unlock code. Give me a second and I will get it for you". She gave me the unlock code and walked me through the process to unlock the phone. When I got off the phone with her I removed my verizon sim card and inserted my AT&T card. Did a soft reset went to network settings and changed the setting from [Global] to GSM. Hit [Find Networks] and in a few seconds it connected to the AT&T network. I was able to make phone calls and text. However my data connection wouldn't connect. I should say that my AT&T sim card was a data only one for a wireless air card. I don't see why it wouldn't work with a voice plan.
So there you have it.

Is the search button broken?

This thread is really just covering things that have been covered many times before

I just went into a T-Mobile store, showed them my phone and told them what I wanted to do and they sold me the sim on a prepaid account. They were fascinated by the Imagio. It was no problem buying just the sim, I didn't have to pay for a phone I'm not going to be using.
