No T-mobile prepaid data plans right now. There used to be a sidekick plan that worked for everything, but that got cut that off.

You can get it for cheaper on the website. I paid $6.99 for mine and it came with 10 minutes on it.

Re: how to offically unlock verizon tp2 sim for gsm use

One thing I forgot to mention in my above post is that when she took the IMEI off the Imagio and plugged it into their account setup it didn't work. Then she noticed that the VZW IMEI was 17 characters long and she said that TMO's were only 15. She just plugged in the first 15 characters instead of all 17 and it worked fine. I plugged the TMO sim into my Imagio, switched from Global to GSM and placed a call.

One thing to know is that in Global mode the phone will grab whichever signal is stronger, so if you live in an area that has weaker VZW signals and you are right under a TMO tower the phonen will go to GSM. Not good for my needs. I know keep the phone switched to CDMA only and don't worry about that. I don't give out my TMO number, just my GV number and if a call comes in on that number then I get a text on my VZW number and I know I have a call.

That works for me just fine but YMMV.

This is not entirely true, you will have to COMPLETELY lose CDMA signal for it to switch to GSM. It does not go to whichever is stronger since it does not monitor both signal strengths at the same time. So the phone thinks like this, CDMA on --> CDMA signal lost ---> Turn on GSM radio ---> Begin searching for GSM signal

Re: how to offically unlock verizon tp2 sim for gsm use

Just called and got it unlocked. Took probably 10 minutes to get it done total and the rep also emailed me the terms/conditions of unlocking the sim, basically VZW isn't responsible for any charges from other carriers. Not that I plan on using my phone abroad anytime soon, but it's nice to have it unlocked, thanks for the guide with the phone number to call

Re: how to offically unlock verizon tp2 sim for gsm use

okay, to change gears a little bit here.. does anyone know how battery life is affected when the phone switches to the different carrier? Is there any noticeable decrease in battery life that's out of the ordinary?
