most stores dont carry batteries in stock. They can order you 1, or may have 1 laying around. Bit normally they dont stock them

I guess I will try giving Sprint a call and see if I can get the battery replaced. It definitely appears like I am in the minority here...

Try plugging your phone into the charger and surfing the web at the same time. Does the device overheat? if so, its the device..

i ended up getting a new device and reusing the battery and can go over 24 hours with heavy usage (i used groovefish for about 3 hours today, had 2 hours of talk time and 18 hours of standby)

Hmmm...might be the phone then...problem is that I am past 30 days (is that a problem or would they still send me one?) and the screen is PERFECT (no dead/stuck pixels)...

Would Sprint send me a replacement and if the replacement is worse overall can I just send the 2nd one back and keep the first?

Do you have phone insurance on your device? If so, no time peroid matters. Even so, within a year I believe you would still be covered by the one year warranty.

For an update to all who have been reading this thread, Sprint is sending me a replacement battery. I will report back with how it works. If I still have the same issues, perhaps I will try to get the whole device replaced. One step at a time...=)

My TP2 Battery is much better than my TP1. Both under heavy use through out the day. 8:15-10ish with no problems. (both sprint stock rom)

I gave this a try and while my phone does get hot if I have it plugged in and use the browser, it doesn't overheat. I assume this is normal?

Mine would get hot to the point where the LED indicator would flash between amber/green and the charging would stop.

However, the replacement can be described as just getting warm with heavy use + being plugged in.
Im willing to bet your phone is to blame
