Re: TP2 Battery Life Equal to TP1??

Well my TP1 could barely go 6-8 hours under barely any use. My TP2 basically doubles that now. I pulled my phone off the charger aroun 8 am, and it just died at 9. I have 1 gmail and 1 exchange email setup. Im a heavy texter, moderate browser, and hardly use it for calls(who uses a phone for calls!) but I also spent a good 2 hours in the subway roaming. Overall Im very impressed with the battery life

Sounds like you have similar issues with me, as I usually spend an hour or two roaming. I guess this is what to expect? It's still odd that people can last two days with this thing..

On a related note:I took at look at the battery (I got this phone as a REFURB, not NIB) and it is a Sprint labeled "standard battery" and it says "For use with Sprint Smart Device Snap/S511 by HTC". Did I get some generic battery that isn't normally included with this phone?

Hrm, maybe this could be the source of the problem. Anyone else want to comment on the type of battery they have under the hood? =)

Re: TP2 Battery Life Equal to TP1??

I'll say better just because TP 1 overheated w/ slight usage and drained the battery, but TP2 doesn't have the issue.

If both phones were in stanby, w/ no usage, I think the bettery life would be about the same.

no way! At least not for me. I used to have meetings on Wednesdays, Id unplug my phone at 6 am, drive 2 1/2 hours(not using my phone) then for the meeting we couldnt use our phones. And when I got out around 1 or 2, itd be on low battery from basically 0 use. I couldnt leave my TP1 unplugged overnight, or itd be dead in the morning. Ive left my TP2 off the chsrger overnight and its fine

Re: TP2 Battery Life Equal to TP1??

Do you all think if I call Sprint and complain about not getting a real battery (basically one that is made for the Snap) that they will send me an actual OEM battery?

One nice thing is the battery application in settings has an information tab with usage stats. Today has been light usage for me, 13.2 hours of standby 1.3 hours of usage (text and internet) and the battery is at 70%. Default settings with wifi off bluetooth on.
I am more like the OP in that I am not thrilled with the battery life...there is no way I could make it 2 days without charging...I did not own a TP1 though so I can't make the same comparison...

Today I had around the same usage as this guy above (but with 10 hours standby) and I am at 40%...and I don't even have bluetooth on...I do have the RSS Hub update every 2 hours but that shouldn't make that much of a difference...

Can batteries be swapped out at a Sprint store? And anyone with the cleanup cab installed: What is the highest temp reading you've seen for your TP2? Mine seems a bit warm at times...also is there a way to "recalibrate" the battery in case that is the problem?
