Will Windows Live Messenger count towards data or SMS?

Hi guys. I just have a quick question. I tried googling and searching this forum for the answer, but didn't have any luck. I was wondering if using the new windows live messenger would count towards data or SMS? Using google I had mixed answers and before I used up all my SMS messages I wanted to know if anyone here had a definite answer

TIA

Anytime your phone establishing a connection to #777 (for data services) you will be using data on the network. These will all be programs that require access to the internet, so yes, Windows Live will use data.
