Caller ID works at first, but reverts to Unknown after answering call
Edit: HTC has posted a hotfix for this issue: http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/
This is a somewhat minor issue, but I'm wondering if it is happening to anyone else. When I get a call, it shows Unknown for a split second, then quickly switches to the correct Caller ID and plays the correct ring tone. So far so good. However, when I answer the call, it switches back to Unknown. As a result, I can't easily access the various options available during the call, such as seeing contact details, taking notes, etc. Also if I happen to forget who I'm talking to, I have to ask them, which is embarrassing. Ok I'm just kidding about that last part. After the call is over, the correct entry shows in the Call History, which is why I say this is only a minor issue. What makes it even stranger is that sometimes I can get it to show the right contact during the call, but the fix doesn't last. I've tried deleting and recreating the contact, moving the number to a different contact, resetting the phone, receiving a call when the phone is awake versus in standby, etc. Sometimes I think it's fixed, and then I try it again and it's back to Unknown. I still haven't figured out how to reliably reproduce a solution. Has anyone else seen this? By the way, this is a stock Tilt2 (AT&T, WM6.5, TF3D) with no customizations. Yes, same thing to me. Very odd. minor issue, but very annoying. Apparently, we are no the only ones who are experiencing this issue. Here is a another forum from att that is going through the same issuse. http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/b...read.id=121751

I have Sprint and I have issue with caller ID as well

Wirelessly posted (Sprint/1.0/HTC_Touch_Pro2_T7380 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))
I have Verizon, and I had that problem too. I have a new rom (Energy Leo), so we'll see if it's still there (probably).

Re: Caller ID works at first, but reverts to Unknown after answering call
I've been hoping that my 1st post would be a contribution and not a question, so here it is. I just got my phone a week ago, and was also having this problem. I populated my contacts with PIM Backup. None of my calls would show the contacts as seems to be everyone else's problem. I just went through all of my contacts using Outlook, and made sure that they were all entered in exactly the same format (###) ###-####. I then synced with Active Sync with the conflicts set to change item on device (phone). Now it seems to work.
I also tried dialing out, if you don't dial the 10 digit number the way that it is stored in the phone, it doesn't work. If anyone can take this and run with it, I sure would like to have the proper fix. Sorry, but I am posting this in all of the threads that I see about this problem. |

Re: Caller ID works at first, but reverts to Unknown after answering call
I'm not sure if the non-AT&T people understand exactly what this particular thread is about. Can some of you Sprint or Verizon folks confirm whether you are experiencing exactly this same issue? We are trying to figure out if the issue is caused by an HTC-wide bug or just an AT&T ROM bug.
Here is a checklist of what this particular thread is about: 1) The Caller ID DOES work when someone calls, every time. There is no problem matching up the contacts to the incoming number. 2) However, after you answer the call, the in-call status screen shows the caller as Unknown. 3) After you hang up, the Call History shows the correct contact information in the log. 4) The problem is intermittent, yet frequent. Occasionally during the call it will display the contact information instead of Unknown. We have yet to find any correlation that explains when it works and when it doesn't. As far as we can tell so far, this exact issue is only being experienced by AT&T Tilt2 users. The Caller ID issues experienced by other Touch Pro2 users appear to be different (such as showing Unknown BEFORE answering the call). Some people have replied to this thread from Sprint and Verizon, but they didn't really specify whether they are having this exact issue, or just generally having problems with Caller ID (which is not what this thread is about). |

Re: Caller ID works at first, but reverts to Unknown after answering call
For anyone having this problem on AT&T, there is a hotfix from HTC that should address it: http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/
