There is a phone setting for CDMA/GSM which you need to switch over to either "global" or "GSM" in order to use a GSM SIM overseas. But regardless how you set this your T-Mobile sim won't work, since you're in the U.S.

only true if you use a sprint sim, these are sim locked at least tesluses is. putting in another sim will just say invalid sim. i just unlocked mine today and im using CDMA telus and rogers network with 3g w00t at the same time
