so many other platforms of winmo out there, in the US we are stuck with htc. Sony has nice winmo phones as well.

As for changing carriers for a phone... It seems like 2 year contracts (even 3 years for a free Palm Pre) it too long of a commitment. Here are my reasons as to why i will wait for a TP3 or a HD (w/ keyboard) on a Sprint Network.

1. Sero Plan ($30 + $7 Total Equip. Protection) is unbeatable.
2. EVDO > 3G (AT&T and T-Mobile) in terms of reliability and speed. (At least in the LA Area)
3. Mostly likely, within 6 months, a better HTC phone will surface that will make u drool all over again.

My 2 cents.

i doubt this is true. the hd1 came out almost 2 years ago, and it basically has the same specs as the pro2 just no keyboard. Theyve said that the hd2 is their flagship phone, i doubt any phone is coming out any time soon with better specs. the only thing its missing is the amoled screen display, but all the amoled screen displays are 3.7 and smaller.

Its interesting to note that while the hd2 might be known as the windows mobile flagship phone, the acer neo touch with with the same specs as the hd2 beats it in performance tests such as coreplayer video decoding. both have the same 4.3"/WM6.5/Snapdragon processor

performance gains or loyalty and design achitecture?

flagship phone could mean a number of things. One I don't think people want to buy acer ( I sure don't, have you seen their computers) 2, flagship phone could mean the only 6.5 phone getting the winmo 7 update, only time will tell.

The ability to give the market something better is already there. But why go from A straight to E when there's all that money to be made in B, C, and D. If you're really estitute you'll notice this business model in just about every industry in some way. Example, the 2004 Nissan Altima didn't have folding side mirrors....the 2005 does. They held off on the mirrors so they would have one more "NEW" item to add to the new model window sticker thus making it look like a better car. Previous generaltions of Altimas had folding mirrors.

I think this is why they didn't include a flash and all the tech inside upgrades on the TP2 vs. TP1. This way they can market the TP3 with snapdragon and flash and we will all rush to buy yet another device.
