I had a Hava setup for a while & the picture is a hair better than my current Sling Pro setup, but the Hava hardware is junk.

My first Hava box quit working in two weeks & then I had to deal with their AWFUL cs to get it replaced (just try & get someone who speaks english). When the 2nd one arrived DOA right out of the box I decided I wanted a refund.

I went through absolute hell trying to get the refund & swore I would never deal with them again.

Re: TP2 and HAVA

My hava still works good - I have a small line through the bottom of my picture that sometimes is there which is very annoying but glad to see they are making an updated player - about time

This is apparently what he is referring to, however he posted no link or info. It appears he has his hands on a WinMo 6.5 compatible version. Is it WVGA yet?
The link above is the current version that issues with WVGA. There is a big discussion over at the HAVA board about it. While in WVGA mode, the menu options disappear. There is a workaround, but not ideal.

Having full access to the menu would of course be ideal, but unless you're switching between a few different HAVA units, the workaround works quite well once you get things set up the first time with WVGA Fix (which is a painless process). It gets landscape mode working decently for the time being until a proper version is released (if that ever happens...)

I thought it was going to be a hopeless situation until I used the WVGA Fix work around a couple of days ago. I agree it does work quite well.

A good way to lose customers if you ask me.

Their support used to be great though. They even sent me adapter for free on a slingbox classic that was 2+ years old about a year ago.
My Sling Pro has decided to give an error of "This Slingbox was not designed for region XXX". It does it for whatever country I choose. Because of this, it doesn't let you select a device.

I tried back flashing the firmware last weekend, but that didn't help. When I saw I could get the titanium hava for $100, I figured I'd give it a try.

you need to INITIALLY set it up on your mobile in vga mode basically. Small pic but you can see controls.(you use wvga fix to run it at smaller size for this) once you do that you set he player up wit proper server password , hava name and ID. then after setting it up, save it as default and close the app. Then change size back to normal in WVGA fix, then restart .when you go to the bigger pic in landscape mode, just hit the blue "play" button on bottom and it should connect to the server automatically, bypassing need to access settings here, you can still use the remote to change channels.
