Zooming map in Live Search

Is there an easy way to zoom in/out maps in Live Search?
There is no central button. Sensor area below the screen does not work in Live Search. Looks like thee only way is to use menu. Very annoying.

Tap screen twice and a blue box appears where it will zoom. It is tactilely different than double clicking in almost any other situation so you have to learn it and it is somewhat inconsistent whether it is going to work or not.
Typical MS program issue to me. Seems like it should work but only periodically.

Or just touch and open the soft keyboard, then hit the return key.
