Re: TP2 + Garmin XT
I would have to disagree with willysp & say the exact opposite is true. I use Garmin Mobile XT because it does not rely on any data plan (I didn't even have a data plan when I first used it with my vx6800).
I would also say the phone is pretty rugged. I must've dropped mine like 3 dozen times on tile/concrete/asphalt. Still works like it would outta the box, albeit with some scratches. Only problem I could see using your TP2 w/ Garmin XT on a long backpacking trip would be the battery issue coming into play. |
Re: TP2 + Garmin XT
This is a terrible software. You have to be physically in a city to be able to do a demo of where want to go. Say you are in place A, but you want to do place B to C, you cant do it!
Map and cursor move in jerky motion. The only good thing is that it got tons of open source maps! iGo8 is the best GPS for TP2. 2nd is TT7. |

Odds are you're going to get an outdated set of maps. |
Re: TP2 + Garmin XT
I like to hard reset my TP2 from time to time. I wonder could I save my custom data of garmin and later restore them after hard reset? TIA

Some folks are just lucky, I must have dropped my several times. I use a screen protector and one of those soft silicone skins but all is fine, not a single problem yet. LoL |

Before you hard reset, just copy that directory to your SD card, then restore it later. |
