Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
I don't believe you're going to find a fix for that, other than updating your contacts and prepending all those in your local area code with that specific area code. If that was a feature of the 6800, I think it's been dropped in later revisions of WM.
Also, not that it helps with your current contacts sorry, but for future contacts, make sure you've set your default area code in the Contacts application...Launch Contacts | Menu | Options, and there you'll see the default area code that is added to new contacts.

Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
thanks for your immediate feedback.
I do have all my contact prefilled with my local area code... lets say it is (999) I enter all my contacts with (999)XXX-XXX or 999-XXX-XXXX When i dial a number say XXX-1234.. it dials the number fine, but does not pull the contact info. So you saying there is no fix or option to correct this? Also I do have my default area code loaded.. !!! Any other ideas or thoughts |

Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
Dang, you said that in your post too sorry!!! So the bad news is I don't think there's a way for the dialer to prepend your area code. The good news is, doesn't look like you need to update your contacts
Sorry, I've got nothing. I tried it on my own, and it doesn't prepend the area code either. You said you'd been through all of the phone options too, so I'm sure you saw the option to prepend a 1 i.e. +1 for long distance, but I think that's about it. |

Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
so let me ask you,

Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
I was wondering the same thing. If someone has a fix for this that would be hype...

Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
If you already have the contact info in your phone, why wouldn't you bring up that contact and dial from there instead of manually entering the 7 digit # of the contact you already have in the phone?
I ALWAYS make it a habit to dial the 10 digit # so that there will never be any problems especially if you're out of your home calling area. 3 more digits is not going to kill you (I hope). |

Re: prefix and phone dialing issue
for some reason htc aqnd/or sprint felt they needed to hide the prepend section and even if enabled not be workable.
