Re: How do you scroll using your finger on the TP2?

It took a day to adjust to the finger scroll routine. Not a problem now at all.

Re: How do you scroll using your finger on the TP2?

scrolling is a dream but first timers need to get used to it. for a first time i would not call it a scroll, its more like a grab and drag type motion. i as well come from a diamond so i already know how it works. my brother got a tp2(broke his WM virginity) and it is so funny watching him try. its not a flicking motion. kinda build momentum, becomes easy after learned.

I agree 100% (as long as you don't put a sticky/tacky zagg screen protector on it, those things suck IMHO, especially if you're using TF3D)

I was using WM6.5 on my TP for months & I almost didn't buy the TP2 as I was afraid I would absolutely HATE going back to 6.1 & the main reason was in the scrolling.

That has not turned out to be the case at all however. I find my TP2 scrolls much better than any previous 6.1 setup I have ever used. I will still swap back to 6.5 as soon as we get an unlocker, but for now I am very happy with the TP2 just the way it is (& the only time I ever use the stylus is for the miniscule menu in Pandora & I had to do the same thing in 6.5)

I have a Boxwave crystal clear screen protector on mine also, which is really no different than using it with no screen protector.

NOt true. Not a good conclusion at all.

The scrolling is very finger friendly; doesn't require a firm touch at all. My screen is very sensitive, and I never use my stylus at all (even when you get back into the unimproved WM6.1 menus in some places).

I suspect the TP2 you tried has been used and abused; I have never found display models to be very representative of the product after a few weeks of being abused by the public.

You can also barely touch the screen and give a quick flick with your finger, and the screen will continue scrolling when you let go. That is definitely not what I would describe as "grab and drag".

They are the best; can't wait until they get a REAL VZW version (ie, without the camera cutout on front). Until then, I will suffer with the Zzag.

Re: How do you scroll using your finger on the TP2?

What really bugs me is when I am scrolling through Contacts, and accidently open the wrong one, I then have to start all over again from the beginning (A), instead of being able to back out to where I was

Re: How do you scroll using your finger on the TP2?

Just switched from a palm treo to TP2 and feel very frustrated with scrolling on TP2. My problem is that when I flick my finger vertically, it does scroll, not for exactly one page, but for more than one page. It is also difficult to scroll exactly one page by swiping my finger, usually it is less than one page. This happens in opera, contacts, start and almost all applications that needs scrolling. Is there any way to scroll exactly one page? I miss the 5-way navigation button on my treo.

That also is my biggest complaint when scrolling. Accidentally opening the wrong contact is extremely frustrating. Slightly off topic, when this happens is there a fix to prevent the contacts list from starting all over again?

Re: How do you scroll using your finger on the TP2?

This is day 2 for me on the TP2. I'm coming from a Storm. The scrolling is my biggest complaint. Every time I try to scroll I activate whatever I touch on the screen. For example, if I try to scroll down through a list of emails I always activate one of the emails. Very frustrating but I know I need to give it some more time.

Same here; the scrolling speed is too high, it's almost impossible to get to the item you want in a list. I've tried my friend's IPhone, and the scrolling speed and feedback is perfect on that device.

I wasn't aware that WM 6.5 will improve scrolling; I sure hope it makes a difference.
