Re: Android on the touch pro 2

I was running Android on my Vogue. I am not sure why it works so well on that device but we can't get it working on the Diamond, TP, etc. Contrary to the above poster, I used Android on my Vogue pretty late in the game and it was very usable and it did require a soft reset to get back to WinMo as the Haret loader closed windows before booting android... I think now that We officially have a CDMA Android device everything should come together quite nicely. Here's hoping atleast...:drunken:

Still trying to figure out what everyone loves so much about Android? What exactly does it offer that we do not have already?

Bingo. android does MANY things incredibly well, but at this point I wouldn't abandon winmo for it just yet I would only consider using a tandem of both running on a winmo base

its not that it has some stuff different. its the fact that it is something different from what we are used to. i like the idea of choices. and not just different flavors of cooked 6.1 or 6.5 roms.

I mean using android on mogul/touch/touch pro
I don't see the fascination with the android platform. Out of the box it is reminescent of windows mobile
ugly and repulsive
I like the way htc dressed android up with the hero...but I guess personally I don't see the fascination with it...

I'm with you Noir. It looks sexy, but so does the TP2 with WM. IMO

I've always had some sort of Windows mobile device, for as long as I can remember. I've had several Windows CE pocket pcs, Compaqs, and HP ipaqs, Touch, TP1 and tp2. I love windows mobile and can't wait for windows 7 on my phone. I have never even considered an I phonie I hate having to pay for apps and being locked down to one look. That's the only reason I like the idea of having a windows phone with the ability to run Adroid and Android apps. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the Leo regardless it's ability to run Android. (unless it doesn't come to Sprint)
