Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
I am looking at getting a snap on case for my Touch Pro 2. I checked out naked cell phones ebay page and found this:
http://tiny.cc/sC4zm I have noticed near the speaker part that on different cases they have circles near the top. Why does this change between carriers? What are they attempting to not cover up I guess is what I am asking. |

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Naked Cell Phone is my favorite seller on Ebay. They price match as well. I found items on other sellers' lists that were cheaper and Naked Cell agreed to match the price. Ebay rules when it comes to cellular accessories. I never by them from the Sprint Store! Think about how a charger from a cell phone company's store may cost 30-40 bucks but on ebay costs between two and five bucks.

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Actually it is for the proximity censor. If you place a call and put your finger (or ear) over the whole the screen turns off.
I have this case in black and really like it. I wanted to get a Gel case but I think I am just going to stick with this one. I am completely impressed with the perfect fit and ease at which it can be removed. |
Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Thanks guys! All of your input was helpful. So for the Sprint phone should it be on the right hand side of the speaker?

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Do not buy Sprint labeled cases from Nakedcellphone. The holes are on the right side and need to be on the left for the proximity sensor to be functional. I e-mailed NCF about this and they told me there is no such thing on the Sprint version and the screen "does not turn off during calls like the iphone." Needless to say I am in the middle of trying to get a refund. They will be getting appropriate feedback once I get my money back. With that being said, the Verizon version should work and be fully functional on the Sprint TP2.

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Sorry man, I should have looked closer… ](*,)
You guys are completely correct. The sensor is on the LEFT side. This is the one I bought (in black): http://cgi.ebay.com/RUBBERIZED-RED-CASE-COVER-FOR-VERIZON-HTC-TOUCH-PRO-2_W0QQitemZ280407299942QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Acce ssories It is for the VZW TP2 and the hole is on the LEFT side. |

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Hi! Thanks for threading on this topic. I have been looking high and low for a good case for my HTC TP2 CDMA phone. I wish I could find one of those cool silicon numbers like they have for iPhones, but so far the search has only turned up those inadequate and inconvenient default pseudo leather velcro closure crap. I don't understand why there is no market for making better cases for this ridiculously expensive phone.
So, to get to the point, did this Verizon TP2 case fit the Sprint version adequately? It's probably the best case I've seen so far, so I will order one if you like yours :) Thanks again for the tip! |
Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Also ordering this case, is it fitting in yalls leather cases? Or are you just dropping it into your pocket? Oh and what the guy above said "does Verizon TP2 case fit the Sprint version adequately"
|
Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Will jump on this when they release a black version. *crosses fingers*

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Oh. I guess I'm confused since bmrisko earlier in the thread stated "With that being said, the Verizon version should work and be fully functional on the Sprint TP2." So, to clarify, the nakedcell case does not work with Sprint TP2 because it covers the light censor?
Oh, and Dallastx...I'm a chick, just for the record ;) |

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Okay, I just got mine from Naked today and it is for the Sprint version (which I have). It fits great and for the money is a very good cover and looks great as well. I have only had it for about 15 minutes, but it seem great.

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
This is like the third thread of people buying cases from nakedcellphone that are wrong. He sells GSM cases and says they are for Sprint/Verizon(CDMA). I would avoid this seller.
GSM has the 2nd camera on the front which is that hole on the right. CDMA don't have the 2nd camera and has a proximity sensor that turns off your screen when it is close to your face so you don't accidentally press buttons. This requires an oval hole on the left of the case. |

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Okay folks, looks like I have found a rubberized hard snap on case that is made for the Sprint version TP2. It appears to also come in some other colors. Inexpensive enough (free shipping also)to give a try with no worries, and the actual pics definitely appear to be designed for the Sprint version. I just ordered one and hopefully will have it next week. Heres the link and dont forget to hit the thanks button if it looks like you could use it.. and yes, the holes look correct. click the link and see for yourself....Peace

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Well....I've never had a problem with them. I've been dealing with them for some time. Now that you've warned me I won't get any snap cases. Headsets, cradles, etc. have all been great. I hate it for you there.

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Hi,
I am a Ebay seller who also sells the TP2 case(don't ask me who; I don't want to make this looks like an ad). Seeing there are so many arguments over the issue of this case, I figure I could tell people what I know, and hope to get answer of my own question from others. There are 3 types of TP2 protective case in the market right now: 1.TP2 GSM, which only fits Tmobile and oversea version, not our concern today. 2.TP2 Verzion, the one which has a hole on the left of the speaker. This case has been tested by myself(I own a verizon TP2) to work 100%. 3. TP2 Sprint, This is where all the problem goes. Since it only available through telesales, it is tough for us to get the actual phone to test on. As first we thought the verizon and sprint are of the same phone, so we ship our buyer with the verizon version. However, some customer has reply that the front cover will pop out or won't go in correctly, so we stopped selling them to Sprint TP2 owners. As of today, We have no idea if the verizon case does/doesn't work on the Sprint version. And I would love to hear from others for their experience. My question for all Sprint Tp2 customer is, Could anyone confirm if the proximity sensor located on the left or right of your speaker? As the replies seems to go both way. It is actually very simple to test with: Just make a phone call, and try to cover each side next to the speaker when connected. If the screen goes black, that is where the proximity sensor is. As for nakedcellphone, I can't say they are a bad seller, but rather an irresponsible one. They would careless about if the product works, as long as they can make money(they are the only big seller who is still selling the Sprint TP2 case;everyone else stop due to the issue; and that is not the first time they did something similar). I know their little dirty trick on how they get these case, but I don't want to go public on them. Anyway, just don't beilive that they know what they are selling; they are more clueless then you are(since you own the phone and they don't. Lefty11: The link you provided is only a Verizon version TP2 case. The seller are simply claiming it will work on sprint. I won't trust anyone unless they can give out a actual picture with the case installed to the phone itself... I hope I didn't piss off too many people today:headbang: |

Ok below poster is right..I just got a big thumb....Sensor is below the HTC at the top left.......As far as if the Verizon case will fit sprint....The back cover is slimmer "from what users are reporting" also i thin it has to do with if you have a bulge or not..What this bulge is "i have no idea" But alot of people complain to have bulges in there phone..If the case is suppose to be skin tight "which it is" then unfortunately you can imagine what a bulge in your phone would do to the case.... |
Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
Sprint proximity sensor is 100% on the left side...and not in the ear piece. I can cover the ear piece during a call and the screen stays on. When I cover the area around the HTC logo on the left, the screen goes off.

I'm not pissed, . I am not a seller.I am wondering why they did not just say "fits verizon and Sprint". Although the back is not ideally cut to match the loads of small holes . I have ordered one myself and if it gets here I will post result. But the sensor cutout in the case pictured is definitely in the correct spot, and the info listed describes as "Snap On Rubberized Hard Cover Case Protector for HTC Touch Pro 2 Sprint phone ". For the price it was offered at 6.99 with free shipping, I will gladly take a flyer on it and try it. I hope I am not disappointed Thanks for the info , though, as it does provide us all with some insight. I will post results when and if the case comes in . My phone does not appear to have a bulge so we will see what happens. All I know is , I am needing a snap on case and having problems finding one , I currently use a belt clip, pouch case made for iphone which works very well but still would like a snap on that will keep back and sides from scratching when I inevitably drop it. I think I would just go with ZAGG if I knew how well they protect case from a drop . |

Re: Snap Case for Sprint TP2 Question
I have a clear snap on case that i bought from Boxwave.
They clearly sent me the GSM version as it has a small round hole on the RIGHT side. The case fits great & works just fine however & will do until the seidio innocase becomes available (the one I really want) Since this case is clear, the light sensor works fine even though there is no hole for it. ~John |
