YouTube App crashing on attempt to play video (youtube.exe error)

Help, my preinstalled youtube app on my TP2 is crashing all of sudden when I attempt to play any video. the app starts ok, videos come up, I select a video, tries to connect but then crashes. the error report indicates a problem with the youtube.exe

In addition, it also leaves the youtube player control (play, stop button etc.) on the screen and it stays unless i soft reset the phone to get rid of it.

If it helps, I can probably post the error report.
