I've done this on Verizon. I'm going to assume you're running some form of Windows on your computer.
- Install the Internet Connection Sharing program (attached below)
- Set it up to use your connection (mine is called Verizon Wireless) and USB connectivity.
- Hit the "Connect" button, THEN connect the USB cable to your PC (avoids issues with ActiveSync popping up)
- You should now be able to browse the web on your PC and phone (and the phone will charge)
- On your PC, go into your network connections and enable Internet Connection Sharing on the connection to your phone (device shows as "Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device" on mine)
- On your other machine(s), point the Gateway address to the IP of the PC that the phone is connected to. You will probably need to use Static IPs to do this, or else the other machine(s) will try to use the router as the gateway. You might also have to manually enter your DNS servers as well. NOTE: The IP address of my phone shows as 192.168.0.102 with a gateway of 192.168.0.1. If you use static IP's, make sure they're in the 192.168.0.x range (your router IP will need to be in that range as well)
Hope this helps. I think I tried bridging the two network connections (without ICS on the phone connection) and it didn't work or had problems. I don't remember if I left ICS turned off on my PC and tried pointing the gateway address at my phone's IP. It works for me the way it's currently setup, and I don't plan on changing it.
