Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

While playing with the Sprint 6.5 Cleanup last night I did notice one small thing I wanted to mention in the event it wasn't intended. After a hard reset on Sprint stock rom 6.5, My Pictures folder contains avatars and wallpapers (can view all with File Explorer). However after the cleanup is installed, the My Pictures folder is wiped clean and no images remain. I wanted to mention this as I wasn't sure if it was intended for these files to be erased or not?

Thanks again for all your hard work making these roms better for everyone!

hard reset will erase everything on your phone. saving things to your SD card will fix that issue.

I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. I am fully aware a hard reset erases everything on the phone and puts it back to stock. Here is what the issue is:

1. AFTER hard reset, go to My Pictures. Stock ROM contains avatars and wallpaper items. So Hard Reset puts these back as they are Stock.

2. Install Cleanup. After soft reset with Cleanup, go to My Pictures. Note that no images remain. Thus the Cleanup is erasing them. This may be intended, I just wanted to bring it up in the event they were being wiped out accidentally.

Thanks

Here's an update on what I'm working on for future releases:

  1. Unhide "Display" tab in Lock options for Windows Classic lock (Done... Ready for next release!)
  2. Text Messaging "Unread Messages" Fix (Done... Ready for next release!)
  3. Improved Start Menu Icons and Sorting (Done... Ready for next release!)
  4. Facebook Linking Fix (Done... Ready for next release!)
  5. Provide LED Notifications Fix (Tweaks Issue) (In progress!)
  6. Improve Multi-Select Mode in File Explorer (if possible)(Stock Issue)
  7. Provide "Classic" Start Menu supplement (if possible)(Stock Issue)
  8. Provide "Auto Lock" supplement (if possible)(WinMo Issue)
  9. Provide "Power & Backlight" Fix (no2chem applet issue)

I'm gonna finish up the LED Notifications Fix (the ability to properly enable/disable the LED flashing) before I go to bed, test tomorrow, and still on track for the release tomorrow evening.

Items 6-8 are more "long term" improvements... if anyone has recommendations, I welcome them.

For Item 9, a quick search hasn't revealed any updated version that is stable (translation: doesn't lock up on OK press) on WM6.5, so unless someone can point me in the right direction on it, I'm just going to remove the control panel applet until a better version is available. This does NOT affect the 1% battery driver, which I can confirm is NOT a source of battery drain. I can give about a dozen explanations on other things that may, but it is definitely not.
Great looking forward to the update tonight. One other thing will you be able to fix the turn vibration off when inputing numbers and text even though we have turned it off on the phone???? Or is this an HTC hot fix solution???

Awesome, thanks! Ironing out the kinks is part of the process.

I'm assuming if we have already applied the Clean cab we just apply each subsequent "tweaks only" revision as it comes, right? So for future reference, would we uninstall tweaks revision 2 to install the tweaks revision 3? Or can we just install each subsequent tweaks cab over the prior one?

Or, in a worst case scenario, to restore the icons, etc. do we have to hard reset again then apply the clean cab? For instance, to regain the stock 6.5 icons (i.e. text message icon that was changed with clean cab) do we have to reset and to clean cab again? Or will revised tweak cab be fine?

Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

I'm pretty sure I'm going to irritate some folks with these questions, so I apologize in advance. I have actually tried to clear this up in my head through searches, but just need a little clarification:

1. I have installed the clean-up so I assume I'm good to go with Internet Sharing. When I click on internet sharing, I choose USB connection, then am taken to a screen Network Log On. It asks for User Name, Password, Domain. Do we set these up new? Are these the ones used when we go to Sprint website? Will tethering through this method avoid detection? I actually had something set up on 6.1 and it worked fine, but it's been so long since I used it, I can't remember how I set up anymore....

2. I understand that the cleanup cab includes all the tweaks from the tweaks cab. Now when you make revisions, I should just be able to install the tweaks to get the latest benefits, correct?

I realize these are super-noob questions, but I just want to make sure I am understanding what I've read correctly?

Thanks!

Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

Issue resolved, was a reading comprehension error
thanks to those that were civil about it. F off to those that were not.

********************************

Fresh hard reset. I installed tweaks first then cleanup both for sprint.
When I clicked on album this is what I got.
Also, it doesnt appear to 'cleaned' anything up.
I tried isntalling this the first time with a fresh hard reset, but I synced my contacts/calendar and it just totally went haywire. Going to just try and hard reset again and see if that works.
*edit: Apparently I can not Factory reset the phone either, gives me the same error.....

third Hard reset, going to have to pass this go round....
1)factory reseting
2)istalling the sprint tweak&cleanup
3)Fubaring phone.

If you click on the clock you can choose whatever city you want to appear (assuming the city is listed or you have it added with a weather .cab). So you would want to add your city from the main home tab (by clicking on the clock) and deselecting the "My Location" which incorrectly thinks you are in a different time zone. At least then you will have the correct time zone, city, and associated weather.

I have a Sprint Air Rave 3G hotspot which will cause "My Location" to show up incorrectly as well because it uses the data center location (because it connects via internet, not towers). For this reason, I added my specific city to the main Home Tab and deselected "My Location"

Regarding the behavior of weather, I've noticed that the weather status on the Home Tab (under clock) never updates itself until you manually view the Dedicated Weather Tab and it updates itself. Then, the weather on the Home Tab also updates. I'm assuming this is normal behavior (but I cant remember?). It would be nice if the weather on the home tab updated itself at the interval you specified regardless of if you manually flip over to the weather tab or not. Isnt that the whole point of placing it on the main page, so you can see current conditions without flipping to the weather tab? is this normal?
