Battery has a water damage detector!

Anyone notice the battery has an integrated water damage detector? I know some of the folks here are covering the detector on the side of the phone. I think HTC is trying to be a little tricky!

I would suggest you cover this one as well, especially with the lanyard hole so close to the battery. I can see it getting damp with little effort.

Here are the damage indicators located inside the unit (3) which makes for a total of 5 on the entire phone (1 on battery, 1 on side under battery cover) ...Talk about paranoia!

Re: Battery has a water damage detector!

I've noticed that, some say it comes from humidity or sweat. That's BS, becAUse it makes a lot of difference on our cost, if we've had no water issues (liars excepted, they can go to hell). If this happens a lot, we should do a Class Action lawsuit against those carriers who put them in their phones, and the manufacturer. I have seen them lie, and I'm scrupulously honest. I've even seen conflicting indicators within a QUARTER INCH OR SO.

Re: Battery has a water damage detector!

Can't you just buy a new detector strip or a battery? And yes, for goodness sakes, cover these badboys up people!

Re: Battery has a water damage detector!

I just use a small piece of clear tape. I cut it to the exact size & out it over the detector. You can't even tell.

Re: Battery has a water damage detector!

dont use only clear tape as it will stick to the strip and cause it to activate or when ya take it off itll rip it off.... Use clear scotch tape with a little piece of paper in the middle, this paper will cover the water damage indicater so the tape dont stick to it..... bodda boom
