Re: First Touch Pro2 on MetroPCS!
Thanks very much for this guide. I saw that someone put up a similar guide for boost mobile and imo these should be stickies. Right now my "almost unlimited" plan is like 70 bucks for unlimited data and more minutes than I'll ever use. Boost is 50 bucks and metro is 40 bucks. So if someone is willing to do the work, they can save themselves like 30 bucks a month. Or more, depending on plan. That's a nice chunk of change.
Do you know of any downsides to this? I know sprint's tech support is surprisingly good (if you ask for the level 2 techs... I know, I know, we're all supposed to be phone nerds and be able to fix everything ourselves) ...what happens with the insurance via asurion? Is your phone no longer covered if you drop it or brick it somehow? Any other pitfalls? I've seen guys complain they got stuff working on boost, then a week or two later it stopped. Any danger of that with metroPCS? |

Re: First Touch Pro2 on MetroPCS!
Awesome thread! I had pretty much had most of my new [to me] TP2 working on Metro before I found it, but the massive amount of foreign [mostly GSM TP2] sites and weird softwares I went through have me still wondering how I've not bricked my new toy ..lol
I really enjoyed reading this one and not having to use google translator on Chinese and Japanese..hahaha I had already had WAP/MMS going when I ran the .cab from post 281 which killed my net.. I had to go in dialer and put my name and pass [new ESN calculated style] in, duh. I do like the metro homepage I now get with internet explorer and can confirm 100% working MMS messages. Thanks a million guys. BTW: I have paid CDMA workshop and had just taken a copy of my NAM from my Blackberry and put it in the phone with the newest metro PRL and never once had to use the TP2's keypad to get it on the network. Reading the SPC ALONE from the TP2 by doing nothing but a click makes me so glad I spent the $$ for CDMA workshop over a year ago. |
