Re: GPS Software for U.S. Frustration!
You're NOT likely to hear from co-pilot in a 'timely' manner. I emailed them 9/9 and STILL haven't received more than the standard auto response reply. I had to call them to have my co-pilot reactivated. When I asked the tech support why emails weren't answered he laughed and said they have over 300 emails to answer!!!!!! Some support!

I was leaving on an 800 mile trip on a Saturday. I purposefully tested my CoPilot setup that Tuesday because I had had so much trouble with it, that I wanted to make 100% sure it was working for the trip. I fired it up on my way home from work on Tuesday & it worked just fine on my 26 mile drive home. That week, I did virtually nothing to my system (I may have updated Google maps) & that Saturday when I was leaving my driveway CP told me my reg key was "invalid". I was so p!ssed/ed I almost threw my TP out the truck window........ That was after it had been activated so many times I lost count. They have this asinine procedure you're supposed to go through where if you know you're going to make changes to the system you're supposed to go online & de-activate CP first, then go back & activate it again when you're done. That in itself is a major PITA, & to make matters worse it doesn't always work right. I usually forgot to do this until it was too late anyway, but one time when I knew I would be flashing I went to de-activate it & got an error saying "unable to process the change at this time"........... ~John |

Re: GPS Software for U.S. Frustration!
Wow 4 seconds is terrible. I think the 1 second delay is terrible too though. Not as bad as 4! My Vogue was right on point at all times! I should have kept that phone for the GPS alone!

Re: GPS Software for U.S. Frustration!
Wow... they must have changed that...I have used them for years and had a matchbox sized bluetooth GPS (paid $250) when I had my treo. Just installed it on my card and was good to go. Sorry.

Re: GPS Software for U.S. Frustration!
I'm in the same boat here also with trying to decide which program to use that is a simple install onto the microsd card.
I was using IGuidance (when they actually shipped you a disc and you downloaded the program on your own card) with GPS Gate and a small bluetooth receiver on my 6800 and it worked well. I was pretty happy at first to learn about the new IGuidance software but that joy immediately soured when I came to find out it was on thier card (8gb max) only. I was also told (very rudely) by other people in thier forum that not everyone wants to use a 16gb card since thier devices won't support it so I've pretty much decided not to use thier products anymore. I checked Garmin (uses thier own card), IGo (saw only the Iphone version) and TomTom (wound up seeing only the Iphone version and European maps only). I even went back to check on IGuidance and I see they are still using thier own 8gb cards and nothing bigger. Back to square one again..... |
