Navigation/Mapping software for the ocean/shoreline?

My friend has a navigation system on his boat that has saved maps (which I believe can be updated - just like TomTom, etc..), of the shoreline and ocean floor (within a certain distance of the shore - to show shallow points, etc...). Is there any programs for our phones that has the same feature?

Go to teletype.com - I use this on my phone as a backup to my onboard GPS. There is also the BeeGPS program which emulates the old style hand held GPS (non graphic). But it does have waypoints, compass and heading and distance - and the trial version never expires..

Make sure to get a waterproof pouch for your phone - West Marine carries them.
