Opera clearing History / Downloads history whenever it's closed?

Didn't notice it as much out of the box, but now that I have disabled Push and frequently close opera, I've noticed that i seems like it "forgets" the history and download history every time the program is closed/exited. I'd prefer it always kept it or cleared it after X days like most browser would. Didn't see a setting for this either. Anyway to do this?
