We're talking about a company that will be shipping the Omnia II with 6.1, AFTER October 6th when 6.5 is released.

Will the Windows update feature in the settings menu not update to 6.5 for you?

That's not for replacing the entire OS. 6.5 will come out in the form of a ROM update that you will download to your computer and then flash via an Activesync connection.

At least with the sprint version you do not have to hook up to activesync to flash. The sprint version now has 3 options in settings, update prl, update profile, and update firmware. and of course the standard windows update, but the first 3 are from sprint.
